Fabric, thread, and sculptures.

Two of my quilts showed at World Quilt Florida in Tampa, Fla. (from Jan 31 – Feb 2, 2019) alongside my fellow South Florida Modern Quilt Guild mates in a group exhibit. As the name suggests, there were quilts from across the globe at this convention center and it was a delight to see them.

As it was a very long day back and forth to Tampa, Fla., my travel mate Brenda and I,

also visited the Tampa Museum of Art. I was thrilled to see a sculpture retrospective for Robert Indiana and an exhibit by Oswaldo Vigas. Both were quite inspiring. I missed the Yayoi Kusama infinity room, one of the largest, called Love is Calling, as it was sold out, but having seen several rooms and her work in Atlanta at the High Museum of Art, I was sated.

My two guys and I saw the 2019 International Kinetic Art Exhibit & Symposium in Boynton Beach, Fla., on Feb 3. I dig the ways my son responds to different art pieces. It was lovely to see so many moving sculptures in one place! I managed to squeeze this in before a kid birthday party that same day (for a classmate) and felt victorious!

For the entire month of February, I have three paintings at the Caran Gallery in Coral Springs, Fla. If you’re in that part of West Broward, take a look!
